Age: 1 Year old
Sex: Female
Size: Large
Good With Dogs: Dog Selective
Good With Cats: No
Good With Children: Yes, 18 and Up
When Queen first came to St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center she was very fearful. Since then, she really has come a long way. She became very affiliative with people and she learned that interacting with other dogs can be a positive experience. She still prefers interacting in small groups rather than large play groups settings. She has gone on field trips with the members of the public and outside of not wanting to get into a car, she's done very well.

Queen needs to live with adopters who are going to be patient with her and give her the time she needs to get used to new environments.  St. Hubert's Shelter Behavior Team reported that during her assessment Queen alarm-barked while moving backwards at male staff member who entered the behavior office. She may need to be slowly and carefully introduced to unfamiliar people who are entering her home. She may still have some body handling sensitivity, especially when approached from behind and touched on her back. She usually startles and jumps back.
Overall, she enjoys receiving pets and will solicit pets on her head and neck. She has been known to jump on laps and give kisses.

Once Queen becomes comfortable in her surroundings she will chase after toys and usually bring them back. This can be a great way for new adopters to engage with her while still giving her the distance she needs to become comfortable with them.
