Say hello to Rex! GSRNJ was contacted by St. Hubert's about this handsome boy who recently came into their shelter. Sadly Rex's family was moving and was not in a position to take him with them. St. Hubert's performed his neutering and got him up-to-date on vaccines for us and he is now ready to go.
Rex has a very chill temperament . He LOVES to be petted and also knows some Spanish. During our assessment, he did not show much interest in any toys, but enjoyed every snack we gave him. So this boy is very food motivated! Rex is very anxious and stressed in the kennel and will need a patient family that can allow him to decompress and flourish in his new household.
Rex can be reactive towards other animals (dogs and cats), so we are recommending that he be the only animal in the home. Rex came from a home with a 5 year old and would tolerate everything. Due to shelter stress, a home with children will be considered based on household experience, though we prefer a home with kids over 10.
The rescue is looking for either a foster or adopter for Rex. The rescue covers all expenses while in foster and the foster gets the first right of refusal to adopt the dog. Apply today to make this handsome guy part of your family.
