Stories like this always break our hearts. Whiskey was seized by the Ocean County Shelter after he was found abandoned in a garage, tied up to a pile of garbage. The shelter estimated that he was left without food or water for almost a week. The shelter staff gave him a full wellness assessment along with a lot of TLC to get him one paw closer to a furever home and out of the shelter. We are happy to say that he is now in our adoption program!
Over all Whiskey is a great dog with a playful personality. The shelter estimated his age as about a year old. He loves to be with people and would benefit being in a home that is GSD savvy and active. His previous owners did nothing with him in the terms of training, and as a result Whiskey has no manners and at times can be mouthy and can run circles around the Energizer Bunny. His new family will need to be committed to his exercise and training, and will need to have a trainer selected at the time of adoption.
Whiskey cannot be in a home with young children due to his activity level and mouthiness. Per the shelter staff, he was reactive towards other dogs while in the kennel. While we work with him, we will reassess his compatibility with other dogs once he is settled. Absolutely NO CATS.
Whiskey is up-to-date on all of his vaccines and was recently neutered. If you think you have what it takes to turn this diamond in the rough into an absolute gem of a dog, then please fill out an application today!
