Aries is a 6 year old German Shepherd who loves people, being brushed, walks and hikes in the woods. In addition to being a beautiful boy, he is super smart. So why is he still in boarding? Why has he not found his forever home? Aries is everything that a German shepherd is known for: loyal, protective, strong, smart. However, he has not been given the best situations in his life, he is a tough, but NOT impossible case and he deserves a chance at a forever home.

German shepherds are one of the best dogs that ever existed, but not the best pets for everyone. Aries, like any GSD needs time, work, and discipline. They are not couch potato dogs, at least not during their prime time. Due the lack of all these ingredients, Aries hasn’t reached his full potential or shown his best performance. Aries is not good with other dogs so he needs to be the only dog in the household. We are working with him almost everyday, but he still can be reactive on walks when he is not properly handled and corrected. This is his biggest hiccup because of his breed and size most people are afraid of him which makes him a difficult dog to adopt. He just needs to find the right fit for his forever family.

​Aries would do amazingly in a home with a family that understands his needs. Ideally, someone that has had dogs before specially larger breeds, but mainly someone that understands that with a great power comes a great responsibility.
