Get the Mystery Van ready kids because Scooby is ready to go onto his next great adventure! Scooby's back story is a sad one. His original owner passed away and he was surrendered to a local shelter. Sadly the people who "adopted" him did not have good intentions. Scooby had his teeth filed down and was instead used as a bait dog in a dog fighting ring. Local authorities went in and saved this sweet boy and he was eventually adopted into a loving home. Sadly his new owners had an unexpected life change and Scooby was surrendered to GSRNJ.
Scooby is an absolute gentle giant with a sweet demeanor. He has been raised with infants and young children. He loves to play fetch and frisbee and go for leisurely walks. He is also content to stay at home and keep the sofa warm until you get home. Scooby is a low to medium activity level dog and would make an ideal companion for an older couple or family.
He has never been exposed to cats so we are unsure of how he would be with them. Scooby can become stressed and will bark at other dogs. Considering his history, it is understandable. With a proper meet and greet he can be okay around some dogs. But for the sake of his comfort, we recommend that he be placed as an only dog. Scooby has some weakness with his back legs and is overweight. We are making adjustments to his diet and starting him on some supplements.
