Our service area is the state of New Jersey and some counties in bordering states. The geographic limitation is due to the need for our volunteers to drive to your residence for the home visit and meet and greet steps of our adoption process. If we do not have a volunteer within a reasonable driving distance to you in these areas, we will let you know that we are unable to process your application. If you are not sure of where you geographically fall or live OUTSIDE the state of New Jersey, PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION.

There is a $10.00 non-refundable application fee that will go toward administrative costs. Please note that an application does not lock you into adopting the dog that you apply for. We do our best to accommodate you, however, because of timing; there may be another applicant ahead of you that is an appropriate match for the same dog. GSRNJ reserves the right to deny an application for any reason, without explanation.

Your application will NOT be processed until we receive notification that your application fee has been received. Currently, we can accept checks or PayPal. You can pay this fee online HERE.

    References

    Please list the names, addresses, and phone numbers of three personal references (at least two who are not related to you. One reference must be a neighbor) that you have known for at least two (2) years and note their relationship to you. In order to process your application in a timely fashion, please let your references know that GSRNJ will be calling. Thank You!
    By submitting this application, you acknowledge that you are over the age of 21 and have read, understood and will comply with the German Shepherd Rescue of New Jersey, Inc. adoption policy. You acknowledge that all of the information contained in this application is true and accurate to the best of your ability. Any misrepresentations of fact may result in the removal of the adopted dog by German Shepherd Rescue of New Jersey, Inc.

    You understand that an adoption contract is part of the adoption process and will be enforced. Once a dog is adopted, if it is found to be neglected or abused, German Shepherd Rescue of New Jersey, Inc. reserves the right to reclaim the dog at any time.
